Multiple questions about Week 2 Cont. Lecture, HELP! Clarification regarding for loops and arrays

In the Week 2 Cont. Lecturecontinued lecture of (Rob Bowden is speaker), I need some clarification:

  1. At about 17:00 he writes the for loop. What does ii stand for? I don't think it is age...but, but it can't be the #number of students? What does it mean?

  2. What is ages[i]ages[i]? Why does he assign it to GetInt()GetInt()? What does it represent? (at about 20:00)

  3. What is the difference between i + 1i + 1 and ages[i] + 1ages[i] + 1? (similar location, furtherfurther into video)

I really need to understand this. Is it necessary for the problem set 2?

Thanks in advance, please also answer 2016 Lectures - do I need to rewatch themthe 2016 lectures?.

Thanks in advance!
