Can the solution of problem sets be submitted in Java and not in C?
I am already having experience of around 5 years in Java, so I do not wish to go through C language. I am fine with other part like HTML, JS, PHP etc., but just want to flip for C.

If not then what are my options.

I have discussed this on slack, and as per user it is not possible. But I couldn't get the confirmation from a CS50 staff. How can I get this clarified from CS50 staff or official?

Any CS50 staff or official here?

the course doesn't teach other languages in the first weeks. it was never mentioned that one can submit solutions in other languages. the very first assignment in C, , asks you to specifically create a C program that says "hello, world!" and gives you the code for that.

when submitting, you upload C source code and the grader invokes a compiler to compile it then tests it by executing the executable. and since

  1. C compilers typically do not work for other languages like Java.
  2. C programs execute differently from Java programs.

so other languages are not supported at least yet.

  • Thank you for your inputs. I agree and I am aware of these facts but I want to know if it is possible or not because problem sets main to enhance and test your logical and cognitive thinking, and may not be tightly coupled with grammar or programming language. And I wanted to clarify this with CS50 staff and if not possible then have their view about alternate paths.
