I could only find a question for Mac users so I am posting my own question. I am in the UK and am trying to configure my Windows laptop and appliance for a QWERTY layout with UK English. I have tried adjusting the settings as per the CS50 appliance instructions to no avail. At the moment I am writing my code in Sublime Text and copying it to Gedit. How do I configure the appliance to use a different keyboard layout?

  1. Go to 50 Menu > Settings > Keyboard

  2. Open up the Layout tab

  3. Uncheck Use system defaults and choose your own Keyboard model from the menu

  4. Under Keyboard layout click the Add button and from the Keyboard layout selection window, clock on the little + next to English (UK) then choose the layout and hit OK then Close
