I was able to run Appliance once without any problems.

After that first time, however, I keep getting some weird error:
A box keeps flashing on the top right corner, that switches between "slow keys" and "bouncy keys". Also, a box appear in the centre of the screen, saying "Failed to launch shortcut XF86AudioNext", "Failed to execute child process 'pragha' (no such file or directory)".

These messages keep coming back, even if I dismiss them.

  • What version of the appliance are you running?

  • I got it from this site, so I'm guessing it's 19.

  • Have you tried to update it by running update50 in the terminal?

  • I cannot open the terminal...

  • I actually was able to open it and run it now, before the warning message appeared. Currently updating

So the solution is

  1. Run update50.
  2. Restart the appliance (if necessary).
  3. Restart your PC (if necessary).
  • Yes, it seems to be.

Did you try to update the system via Software Update? I had network trouble when I tried to update Fedora (the OS that the Appliance uses) and lost the network as a result, so I don't recommend you do that unless you create a restoring point in case this does not work.

  • I updated it through the terminal, but the problem still persists

  • update50 should be fine. Can you access any website from Chrome within the Appliance?
