It is mentioned "if unable to get the Google Earth Plug-in working on your computer, you may skip this problem set." Does this means pset8 is optional??

Remember that you can do Pset8 if you have a second computer (either desktop or laptop) running on either Windows or OSX.

Just use the appliance as a "server", the second computer (with GoogleEarth plugin) as a client, and ollow the instruction posted here to connect to the appliance using another computer.

  • but It also says on cdn.cs50.net/2014/x/references/instructions.html that we need to submit all 9 psets and final project to complete the course. I am confused. – Mercury Jun 26 '14 at 5:36
  • Yeah I know that! But I haven't really reached this yet to know the reasons behind this! I've heard it's about the Google Earth plug-in. Anyway, if you've checked the link in the answer, it's a comment from the professor himself! – Kareem Jun 26 '14 at 5:46
  • @Kareem can you quote the comment from David in your answer? Facebook is not always available. – Air Aug 21 '14 at 18:53
