I've basically finished all of pset 8. It is working pretty swell, except for one feature: I type in a term into the search box, get a list of options (place name, state, postal code) and when I click on the actual item, there is an error.

The console, says (for whatever item I click) that I made this request:

http://pset8/update.php?ne=NaN%2CNaN&q=&sw=NaN%2CNaN

and for whatever reason, the function update in scripts.js keeps failing and logging an error.

I don't know why this is, because I haven't tampered with anything in the files beyond what I was supposed to touch. I've been doing this pset in Melbourne, Australia and not the US.

Has anybody encountered this problem? Any suggestions?

  • how did you make the query. if i try to include longitude it will not let me do a full text index – FOTIOS EMERY Nov 2 '15 at 16:15
  • The full text index should be changed in the phpmyadmin, my query was SELECT * using MATCH – Peter Zhang Nov 3 '15 at 4:33

I found out what went wrong, in search.php my query function did not select latitude and longitude. I changed it to query("SELECT * ...)"
