I am currently taking the CS50x online version of the class. I was wondering for the final project, are we held to the same expectations as those taking the CS50 class? The reason I ask is because the PDF for the final project on the edx website gives less information than the PDF here: http://cdn.cs50.net/2015/fall/project/harvard/harvard.html

I was wondering who I can email in terms of teaching assistants to get some pointers on an idea I have for the final project (and for them to tell me if it is too much or not enough). Unfortunately, I can't show up to office hours

What average grade do I need to achieve on the 8 problem sets and the final project in order for me to pass the class and be able to "Verify" it for completion? Is there a minimum passing grade on each or as long as the average is above a certain score?

Also for final project, do I go through the same proposal submission process? The edx website doesnt really refer to this. Instead, I only see the link on the cs50.harvard website

yes. the thing is though that we don't submit the code. we only submit a 2-minute video and I'm afraid it may not get reviewed. this is a main difference between the free edX version and the paid Harvard version. that is, they get more support.

this problem can't be easily solved as there are thousands of students that take the course every year and it's nearly impossible to assign automatically review/grade certain things.

we rely on the online community for such things. try the facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/cs50!

again, the community does a good job in such things. although I'm not sure you'd get an answer to that as again there is a big number of students take the course and it's difficult to assign some one/group of teachers to answer their question specially that the course is totally free, but you can try emailing [email protected] to contact the course's heads.

per the syllabus http://cdn.cs50.net/2015/x/references/syllabus/syllabus.html#certificates

Students who earn a satisfactory grade (60% or higher) on every one of nine problem sets and on a final project will be eligible to receive a certificate from HarvardX as a downloadable, printable PDF.

see http://cdn.cs50.net/2015/x/project/project.html#how_to_submit!
