I had been happily testing my server.c code using telnet, resolved several issues and was tackling the last error when telnet stopped working. I entered the same command as I had done 50 times before, I know it was the same as I simply press the up arrow to launch telnet. The error is as follows:

jharvard@appliance (~): telnet 192.168.106.128:8080 telnet: could not resolve 192.168.106.128:8080/telnet: Name or service not known jharvard@appliance (~):

Chrome works but I would like to use to telnet to see if errors are similarly replicated.

Any thoughts???

  • read the specs carefully cdn.cs50.net/2015/x/psets/6/pset6/pset6.html! or execute man telnet in the terminal for more info on how you should use it! – kzidane Nov 25 '15 at 8:28
  • i have been using it, for the last 3 days with no problems, using the same commands it no longer works – Lulu Machete Nov 25 '15 at 12:46
  • ugh, fixed it, PEBKAC error – Lulu Machete Nov 25 '15 at 12:53
  • except it still isn't working, just kind of hangs after I enter the request line. will press on. – Lulu Machete Nov 25 '15 at 13:01
