I cant login to the IDE. I keep trying to use the EDX password I have, but it isn't working. I can't think of what else to do... Is anyone else taking the course online through Edx...

Thanks, Peter

  • Since Jan 2017 I've been having problems logging in with Google Chrome as a browser. I use my edX login, and instead of opening up the IDE, I get taken to Cloud9's own login page, which doesn't recognise my edX credentials. I have found, however, that I can log in using Safari. – Matt Friend Jan 25 '17 at 16:07

I'm actually taking the course throught edX, try to follow those steps, since I do it every day and never had a problem.

  1. Login to edX:

//

2. Open the Cloud 9 IDE link:

Cloud9 IDE

//

3. Click on edX and then Confirm:

//

4. It should then ask for an edX login like below:

After the login you should be ready to go. If that doesn't happen, you can always try to have some help from the adm guys at harvard through this email:

System Admins @ CS50

Or, download the offline version:

Offline IDE

  • IM FACING A SAME PROBLEM TOO...IT IZ FREQUENTLY SAYING THAT UR PASSWORD OR EMAIL IZ INCORRECT..BT IVE ENTER THE RIGHT ONES – user13975 Oct 13 '16 at 8:00
  • Firstly I want to expressly thank Marco Bomfim for this quick tutorial. The instructions won't work with Facebook login or other trhird party app. Please keep in mind that, to successfully connect it is mandatory login at edx with email address and password. After I did this, it worked pretty fine. =) – Marcello Scattolini Nov 9 '16 at 19:34

It worked for me using my edx.org login.
Are you trying https://cs50.io/ ?

Another way is to go to http://c9.io And create a normal Cloud9 account Then link your Cloud9 account to cs50 with these instructions from pset1:

If you already have an account at c9.io, which is Cloud9’s own site, drop sysadmins@cs50.harvard.edu a note, and we’ll let you know how to "link" that account.

You must log in to answer this question.
