Can someone can explain, like you would to a little child (I'm an adult), what the for-loop is doing in resize.c? Also, what a "scanline" is and what "abs" does in the code they have provdided.

  • the specs does a great job explaining all of this! cdn.cs50.net/2016/x/psets/4/pset4/pset4.html – kzidane Mar 20 '16 at 7:27
  • So a scanline is a row of pixels, without padding And, abs means absolute value. Would you know the implications of that when I'm writing my code? – sisball8 Mar 20 '16 at 9:32
  • The absolute function does have a significant use in this pset. If we were in any other environment, I would tell you directly, but in this class scenario, you need to connect the dots on why it is used. I will tell you that you need to review the specification for bitmaps, and in particular, review the definitions for each field that is being altered in this pset. When you find the right one, you should understand exactly why abs is used. – Cliff B Mar 21 '16 at 5:12
