I don't know how to start to display in HTML the different elements of CS50 Finance. By searching on internet, there are many documents and I got really confuse. In templates, after creating forms when requested, do I have to build individual HTML files and CSS?

Rather than reading a mountain of documentation online, just take a closer look at the distribution code provided by CS50 Staff in the pset7.zip archive.

Make sure that you understand the render() function in particular. Pay attention to the way the Controllers (under ~/pset7/public) and the Views (under ~/pset7/views) are implemented.

Once you understand this, you should be able to modify the code in the Controllers and Views provided for you by your instructors. Just copy a Controller (like login.php) into a separate file, and edit it to suit your needs. Views are even easier, once you understand how render() works. They can just contain raw HTML with a few <?= $variable ?> substitutions.

Hope this helps!

For each "What To Do" you have to create a html page and a php controller except for portfolio. Controller will do most of the work but you have to create a page. Go through the page specs and instructions again. They are actually quite helpful.

  • In "What to Do", it just says to "make sure HTML is valid". But probably I missreading but instructions are just for controller and view forms. Where can I get few insights?

  • So a view form is supposed to be a HTML page. You have to validate it from the given link... What part is not clear to you? Commented Apr 8, 2016 at 2:27
