My CS50 appliance has started giving this message on booting recently.

Welcome to emergency mode. Give root password or press Ctl+D to continue.

It doesn't let me type anything, but when i press Ctrl+D it just keeps going to the next line.

After a while it boots on its own. What is wrong?

    Have you tried to delete its files and reimport it?

  • The Appliance's OS is Fedora, so you can Google for Fedora starting in emergency mode :) Anyways, I'd take @Kareem 's suggestion, backup your files and reinstall it; some file might have gone corrupted.
