I am beginning work on pset7, so I did all the steps up until you have to "tackle" the TODOs for the config.json file. The instructions say to "Click the ⓘ icon toward CS50 IDE’s top-right corner," however, I do not have a ⓘ icon in the top right corner of my IDE. Therefore, I have no way of accessing MySQL username and password. I also do not have my website's URL in the top right corner of my IDE. I did end up finding my url when I started apache, but when I visited the site, I got a 403 error (even though I used chmod correctly).

Any help on what this issue is would be great. Thanks!

The navigation/menu bar changed with the recent update to CS50 IDE. You can find your username and password by typing at the command line username50 and password50, respectively.

Also, consult this thread for more information about how to get pset7 up and running: https://cs50.stackexchange.com/a/19388/12172

I was able to get my username and password from executing the commands you told me to, but I am still unable to access my website. I get the "403 Forbidden" error. I checked my permissions using "ls -l" and I should be able to view my website. So, I then went to the thread you told me to go to, and I executed the commands it said to, but now I get a fatal error when I visit my websites url. – E. Sawyers Aug 1 '16 at 21:05

See this thread: cs50.stackexchange.com/questions/19511/… There's an update to the IDE coming in the next few days. That should resolve these issues. I think the best course of action now is to hang tight until we update to v60. – Peter Aug 1 '16 at 22:09

I had to do 3 things to get pset7 set up (or at least... doing this set of things succeeded):

  1. As mentioned by Peter above, type username50 and password50 in the command line to find the MySQL username and PW, since the ⓘ referenced in the pset no longer exists in the IDE.
  2. Use the permissions changes recommended in How do I submit a bug report to the ide50 maintainers?
  3. At this point, I was no longer getting the same 403-Forbidden error. Rather, I was getting some crazy looking error messages about lines 95 and 98 of CS50.php that basically said it couldn’t read my config.json file so I gave read permissions to that with chmod a+r config.json (from within the pset7 directory) … and then got redirected to the C$50 finance page as was supposed to happen. Hope I have not put myself at a major security risk and that this helps others struggling to get this pset set up before the IDE is updated!
