This is not a question for this kind of platform, as there is no correct answer.

My implementation is a state machine, processing one character at a time. Initially in "print next letter" state, on printing a letter, it switches to "ignore letters" state, just to be switched back on encountering a space.

Originally written for standard version (now "less"), it also worked for hacker version (now "more") without any changes.
