What does this mean?: ":( handles lack of argv1"

My code passed all the checks except for this one.

just got the answer from here https://www.reddit.com/r/cs50/comments/2ddtx6/pset2_caesar_check50_lack_of_argv1/

So I just moved the typecasting line after I checked if argc is really = 2!

took me hours to find the answer.

  • It would be more idiomatic to use an if statement to check argc, instead of a while loop, as you only need to check the condition once and end the program if it's true. The loop makes it read as if the block of code should be iterated over, which it isn't. Both work in practice, but one is more correct. Jan 7 at 3:31
