I wrote code for Initials, but when I put the command to make initials.c in the window, it gives me the message : make: *** No rule to make target `initials.c'. Stop.

I tried compiling the programs from pset1 to check if those worked, but for all of those I would get a message like: make: Nothing to be done for `mario.c'.

Same message even if I edit and re-save the file. I tried putting initials.c in the pset1 directory. Now I'm getting the 2nd type of error even for initials.c

Help? What am I missing?

What is the command that you are using to compile your program? Is it make initials or is it make initials.c? The former is correct, the latter gives the error you are getting.
