I've been trying to access the phpMyAdmin database linked to my CS50 final project but when I recently accessed the CS50 IDE the phpMyAdmin tab has gone missing from the CS50 IDE drop down menu (see screenshot below).

Can anyone suggest why the phpMyAdmin tab has disappeared from the drop down menu and is there an alternative way that I may be able to access the phpMyAdmin database? Any help would be much appreciated.

If you are talking about the phpLiteAdmin, I didn't know that you could access it from that menue, but as it says in the problem set you can access it by typing

phpliteadmin finance.db

into your terminal window. If isn't what you are referring to, sorry I don't know :(

  • As far as I've managed to find out, phpMyAdmin has been replaced by phpLiteAdmin for the 2017 version of the course, which is why phpMyAdmin has gone missing from the CS50IDE drop down menu in the terminal window. The problem that still remains is that how can I still access phpMyAdmin, eventhough it isn't available within the CS50 IDE anymore? Jul 9, 2017 at 11:18
  • Ah, my bad I misread your question. Yeah you are right cs50 transitioned from php to python and sqlite3 for list last year. Since I didn't answer your question, I can delete my answer so it goes to unanswered, so someone else who knows can answer. However if you want to get a certificate for cs50 you need to do the psets in the new versions anyway, so since you already are familiar with a database friendly language I imagine you could easily pick up python and sqlite3 which are introduced in the week 8 lecture and sqlite3 in week 9 lecture of 2016. • I have already completed all of the assignments in the 2016 version of the course, which will still count towards my certificate. All that I have to do is complete the final project and submit that by 31st December 2017 this year. I have been working on my final project since January this year but just recently I cannot access the phpMYAdmin database, which I have been using to link to the web pages in my project. All that I am asking is how can I gain access to the phpMyAdmin database now that it is no longer an option within the CS50 IDE? Jul 12, 2017 at 15:45
