I have set my API_KEY and API_SECRET. I can actually see them using set | grep API_KEY. The correct KEY is shown API_KEY in red and then the exact same value of the API_KEY.

I checked, no spaces before or after. No closing of Terminal Window.

Yet, when I run flask run and search for a tweeter user, I get

RuntimeError: API_SECRET not set

Any ideas appreciated!

  • You said that the key is shown as set. The error is complaining about the secret. Are both set?

It turns out there was one extra buttom to hit at the end of the page in Twitter. Something related to Access Token. Once clicked there, it seemed to work. Thanks.
