I'm stuck with Style 50's expectations.

enter image description here

If I add the tabulation it seems to ask me, it tells me to delete a tabulation. So I have to add 4 spaces... which should be equivalent to a tabulation. Why?

Thanks in advance.

I had this exact issue. Seems it's because style50 doesn't like very long single lines of code. If you break it down, you should be good.

Also in your number validation instead of say 350000000000000 you can use 35e13 which is basically any number that starts with 35 and has 13 numbers after it.

if ((ccn >= 34e13 && ccn < 35e13) || (ccn >= 37e13 && ccn <
38e13))....

Never mix tabs and spaces for indentation. Tabs could have any width, you can often configure in your editor. Common widths are 2, 3, 4, or 8 spaces.

I assume for style50 they had to pick one, and chose spaces.

Most editors also allow you to indent with spaces using tab key.

  • I thought "tab" key would put 4 spaces like I'm used to.

  • That's a feature of your editor. I think Windows Notepad for example won't turn them into spaces but jump to the next position divisible by 8.

  • I just verified it... Indeed, it was a text editor's feature...
