I just started working on pset6 using python for the first time. However, it keeps telling me no such file. Am I supposed to install python3 myself into IDE or what is wrong?

  • I tried run it with python3 hello.py and it works. but why is that? – Issa Aug 8 '18 at 1:40
  • Have you tried whether update50 (and the workspace restart after it has finished) fix this? – Blauelf Aug 8 '18 at 9:08
  • before I start working on pset6, I updated50. I tried reopen workspace but still does not work. only python3 works. – Issa Aug 8 '18 at 22:38

Go to the CS50 IDE menu and choose Preferences

Scroll down to Python Support

Make sure that Python Version is set to Python3
