In the second row of bday sheet music, how to interpret inverted notes? Also how to identify if the sheet music has any rests? IMO, the sheet music doesn't contain any rest notes.

Apologies if some of this is too obvious. Thanks in advance

Inverted notes are exactly the same as ordinary notes.

It's just a convention, to make the sheet music take less room: For the higher notes, we make the flags point downward, and for the lower notes, we make the flags point upward.

The signs for the rests are being explained just above the birthday sheet music.

Indeed they do not occur in this song.

However, they do occur in the other files.
