I got all zeroes in the grader but my code passes check50 when one extra file I coded is included in the command line. I have a file called hashfunction.c that I included in the SRCS tag in Makefile but to pass check50 it needs to be included in the parameters like so:

jharvard@appliance (~/Dropbox/pset6): check50 2014/x/pset6/speller dictionary.c dictionary.h hashfunction.c Makefile

How can I get the grader to include this file when compiling, apart from including the entire file into dictionary.c? Is there a better way?

  • I had the same issue, solved it by moving all contents of my extra files into dictionary.c and dictionary.h There seams to be a bug in the grader but I don't know whom to write to. Report bug function in grader is also broken :) – Shironecko Oct 12 '14 at 2:28

@Shironecko It would be helpful if you posted your solution as an answer instead of a comment. – Air Oct 20 '14 at 16:57
  • Not much of a solution, rather a workaround, but ok. Maybe it'll be helpful to students having the same issue. – Shironecko Oct 21 '14 at 16:44

I seem to be having the same issue, so I wanted to check here to see if it is a bug. Obviously, it is a bug, as per the spec:

You may add functions to dictionary.c or to files of your own creation so long as all of your code compiles via make.
