I'm following the steps to migrate everything to the new AWS ide. Whenever I run the script in the new ide, it says rsync needs to be installed. I didn't think I would have to install anything new and can't figure out why it won't work. Any ideas?

  • Do you mean the cs50.io -> ide.cs50.io migration? Are you referring to a specific migration guide? What's that script you are running? – Blauelf May 13 '19 at 16:05
  • Yes, and I'm following this guide, the script is the one the 5th step – Joel Banks May 13 '19 at 19:17
  • This link leads me to a cloud9 login. – Blauelf May 13 '19 at 19:46
  • @Blauelf It guides you through the steps of migration, but when I run the script it doesn't work and gives the error mentioned above, if you log in, it shows you the steps – Joel Banks May 14 '19 at 19:28
  • For logging in to cloud9, wouldn't I have to create an account there first? I'm not exactly sure how cs50 handles c9, but I don't think I ever had a login for cloud9. Or at least I don't know of one. – Blauelf May 15 '19 at 4:51

For the purposes of CS50, there's no need to migrate to an AWS site. Cloud9 is offering that to you since you have a c9.io site already (most students were using CS50's cloud9 (cs50.io) and not c9.io directly.)

Instead, you can simply download your workspace and upload it to the new CS50 IDE (http://ide.cs50.io)

  • How do I upload it to the new one then? – Joel Banks May 13 '19 at 21:25
  • File>Upload local files – curiouskiwi May 14 '19 at 1:04
