I have noticed that staff solution for MashUp problem set is not working correctly , displaying same articles for any location in USA and having waterMark ( "for development purposes only"). Moreover, I can assume that Google Maps API has changed during 2 years since first appearance of that problem set.

Therefore I was wondering whether the pset MashUp was excluded due to impossibility to implement it with current APIs or just complexity of the task which takes way too much time than expected from students ?

I've been doing the course at self-paced mode , so it took my quite a long time to get here =) Thus I was wondering if it worth trying to understand all the changes since documentation was released in 2018 or it is just not doable anymore ?

  • I always assumed the pset was retired when Google put a paywall on maps api's. And after some research, I'm pretty sure one needs to set up a billing account to use the api's. I think the project is doable with a billing account. – DinoCoderSaurus Dec 9 '19 at 15:14
  • @DinoCoderSaurus , thanks ! That's quite an eye-opener . I bumped into API changes on C$-Finance ( pset7) , but they just required a token, not 200$ monthly to work ) . I guess that's indeed the answer to my question. – Hyke Dec 10 '19 at 10:57
