I am using LocalStorage to save the display name and it does remember the display name after the browser is closed. However to simulate different users on the same machine chatting to each other, I need to have each window/tab to have a different display name. I was looking at using sessionStorage. However, sessionStorage will not be saved after browser or tab is closed. Any suggestions?

I found out a solution. Just use incognito window.
