I have a question regarding the reasoning behind If at any point, the ballot is deemed to be invalid, the program exits. from pset3.

Why is this functionality included in runoff but not in plurality? Is this to "simplify" the algorithm so that we don't have to account for someone writing in a candidate? Now that I think about it, in plurality we didn't have to consider a write-in candidate winning...

I am likely overthinking this but I was curious.
