I have Visual Studio Community as well as Visual Studio Code installed on my machine. I am operating under Windows 10. I do not see any directions on how to launch the various pong programs? Is it done with a purpose as I feel that I am wasting tremendous amount of time. I would to stay motivated to make progress in the course and I am STUCK at the very first step... Your prompt help will be truly appreciated.

If you are using Visual Studio Code you can install the extension called Love2D Support from Pixelbyte Studios

Once that is installed you have to restart VS Code. Then open up the folder containing your project (including the main.lua file) and there's a shortcut key set by default to run the code the code from main.lua.

However it doesn't seem to work so:

  1. Click on File > Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts or (Ctrl + K then Ctrl + S)
  2. Type in Love2D in the search bar that opens up.
  3. Changing the keybinding for the command "Run love2D on the workspace folder" to Ctrl + ; or something else which is available (Might need to restart VS Code)
  4. Now with the project folder open and main.lua open press Ctrl + ; and the love2D should open up your game.
  • ps make sure you've installed Love2D as described in the tutorial videos. At the moment of this writing they're using [0.10.2] (bitbucket.org/rude/love/downloads) anything else seems to have rendering issues and code shown in the tutorials not working properly without updates

Thanks @donyd , as you say, in my case the default combination Alt + L, is taken by another extension.
