I know it might sound silly but I've done Plurality and right now I am doing Runoff but I don't feel the need to use any of the algorithms like Bubble Sort etc. specifically. Is this right or should I try to use the Algorithms we were taught?

It's simpler than that. You are allowed to use whatever tools and techniques you have learned. If you don't feel the need to use something, don't use it.
