Hey guys I am doing pset4 "whodunit" of fall 2014 from cs50.harvard.edu. I successfully eliminated the red noise and enhanced other colors.I am seeing the image of someone holding something hidden there but the image is still so noisy that I am unable to recognize it. MY question is can the image be manipulated so the person is completely recognizable?

Almost everyone here is doing the edX version of the course (from 2013) so you might not get a good answer. Saying that, the idea is that you can recognise it, so I'd say keep trying. I'll go grab the 2014 version and see if my program reveals it and report back.– curiouskiwi ♦Oct 25, 2014 at 8:00

Hey is it legitimate to post my finale verdict.bmp here with you, so you could analyze. If no then give me your email add.– MilanOct 25, 2014 at 9:26

The person should be recognisable as one of the members of staff. What he's holding is probably a bit more obscure. As long as you've figured out how to actually change some of the pixel values to make the red noise go away, you've basically solved it.

do you mean that we can get a clear image after removing the red noise ?– kaweganAug 2, 2015 at 16:42

In 2014 when I answered the question, the whodunit photo was a manner of staff. The clue changes in each year's class. For the 2016 edx class, it is not.– curiouskiwi ♦Dec 28, 2016 at 17:32
