I'm on PSET1, and I'd like to program what I see on the lectures. How can I access Gedit?

Any help on how to start will be appreciated

Thanks,

OScar

  • Are you using the "CS50 Appliance"? If so, you have a GEdit icon next to the "Menu" button (the one that looks like a notepad). Otherwise, click the terminal icon to open a terminal window, and type the command gedit.

If using the CS50 appliance, you will see a shortcut is already added for gedit on the taskbar.

If you directly want to open a code file, say example.c, open the terminal, navigate to its folder and type

gedit example.c

You can also find it in the menu.

  • However, gedit runs in the terminal, so if you end gedit with Ctrl-C, Gedit will stop.
