I received 0.5 points out of a possible 1.0 for problem set 1. Is this a passing grade? If not what I need to do?

Students who earn a satisfactory grade (60% or higher) on every one of nine problem sets and on a final project will be eligible to receive a certificate from HarvardX as a downloadable, printable PDF.

Since your mark of .5 is under 60% you have not passed the minimum mark for the problem set. I suggest you try again. You can submit as many times as you like.
