Uploading...E_UNKNOWN error..
  • did you check if you have internet connection from the appliance? If yes, I would try again. This sounds like something went wrong uploading.

The E: UNKNOWN error on Ubuntu happens when you have unmet dependencies on your installed packages. Running an update makes the system check those packages, replacing those unmet ones.

You can check out this conversation for more info about it.

CS50's "checker" must be with the new packages witch make them not compatible with the ones you are using.

To update the CS50 Appliance is quite simple. Just follow those steps:

  1. Toward the bottom of CS50 IDE’s UI is a "terminal window" (in a tab called Terminal), a command-line interface (CLI) that allows you to explore your workspace’s files and directories, compile code, run programs, and even install new software. You should find that its "prompt" looks like
username@ide50:~/workspace $
  1. where username is your own (automatically assigned) username. Click inside of that terminal window and then type
  1. followed by Enter to ensure that your workspace is up-to-date. It should take just a few moments for any updates to complete. (Be sure not to close the tab or CS50 IDE itself until they do!)
