I'm a new CS50x student and I installed the appliance, on virtualbox and VMware. In both cases, when I type the command make, to run hello.c, the following message appears:

make: *** No rule to make target 'hello'. Stop.

Someone knows what I did wrong?

I had the same problem. If you save the file in your dropbox pset1 you have to go and chaange your prompt at the bottom to cd Dropbox\pset1. Then you make command and it should help. I hope this helped.
