Does anyone know if there is a way to get the CS50 appliance on a Raspberry Pi as my computer cannot run the required software to run it? Thanks in advance :)

The CS50 appliance is based on Ubuntu x86, you need a Linux Distribution for the ARM architecture.

Raspbian is the recommended distribution for beginners, follow their instructions, install it and then we can work on configuring what you'll need for cs50(mainly the c library and other utilities such as check50).

On a Raspberry Pi, usually, you need to install an OS (Raspbien or other Linux based OS). You can then download Virtualbox or any other software to install the appliance.
To show a visual interface on your Raspberry Pi (a Desktop...) type the command

startx or sudo start x

  • Your answer is confusing, you're telling him to do two different things, to download virtualbox(what for?) and then telling him to execute a command not currently relevant to his question.

@zer0rest , he needs Virtualbox to install the cs50 appliance. And usually when you work with Raspberry Pi, you work in a command line, and if you want to show the Desktop... ( a visual interface) you need to execute the command :)
