As the error message implies, trouble probably lies in your Internet connection. There are few possibilities of why is that so:
You physical machine has no connection to the Internet.
Go back to your Windows desktop and check connectivity:
Solving Windows connectivity issues is outside of the scope of this forum, so you have to look elsewhere to solve this case.
Your virtual machine has no Internet access.
You can check your virtual machine connectivity:
connect50
command from the terminal (to run terminal you can press 3rd icon next to "Menu" button or choose it from menu itself).by pinging some know-to-work address, like "8.8.8.8" (Google DNS) using ping
command. Example:
ping 8.8.8.8
If your virtual machine has no connectivity, the common cause are hypervisor (like VMware Player or VirtualBox) network settings.
To solve this, you should go to the virtual machine network settings (usually it's "Settings" -> "Network") and make sure all the connection are set to bridged mode. This allows machine to connect directly to your physical network and obtain IP address.
Try to restart you VMware and then try to install Dropbox, it works.
