I have spent 2 days trying to do pset6 on my mac. The VM window displays "missing network adapter" on the bottom line. I have gone through multiple proposed solution with no luck. I have 3 network adapters. The first one has "shared with my mac". I assumed that my mac IP address, would be the one to use for the exercises but trying to run telnet command I get a "Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused" Trying to open the web page in Chrome I get a "This webpage is not available". I am going to skip this pset for the moment and come back to it at a later stage. Any help would be more than welcome.

I have finally found an answer to my question. Thanks to VM_user onhttp://superuser.com/questions/373192/how-do-i-find-the-ip-address-of-a-virtual-machine-using-vmware-fusion

Run in VM console ipconfig (if VM is Windows) or ifconfig (if VM is Linux).

IP of eth0 is the IP address that you are looking for.
