Can anyone give me clue(s) to solve a PDF printing of my coding?

  1. PDF print out of my code is in black only, and does not show color words as in gedit. I have lived with this problem so far.
  2. Then only today(09/06/15), I noticed it does not show line numbers any more. (pls see the picture below as to above two problems).

Line numbers and colors in gedit are fine as shown below.

I had re-installed the VM box several days ago because of a system failure. So it might have something to do with the initial setting but I don't know how to set it right. Since I'm getting behind the schedule, I would like to ask for your quick support, at least on line numbers.

  1. First open Gedit and select Print... under File

    1

  2. Then select Print to File.

    2

  3. Then go to the Text Editor tab and make sure Print syntax highlighting and Print line numbers are checked.

    3

  4. Select Print et voila!

Chris, thank you very much for your prompt reply. I can print the numbers which would help me a great deal in my debuggings. Yoshi

  • Chris, I tried to edit my first comment abovs, and found it was impossible. Here's what I wanted to say: Somehow, though, my printout is not so colorful as yours, and still remain in monotone. I have to quickly add, though, I can live with that. Thank you again!, Yoshi

  • No you shouldn't. You should try to make averything around you the way you want them. Don't just flow with the river. Are you sure Print syntax highlighting is checked? And that you previously selected the Print to file option? If you don't click on Print to file option, it just edits the general options.

  • Thanks for your encouragement!. I wish I could paste the image files. Yes, I did click 'Print to file' (I think). I see it's now being highlighted in blue and cannot change it back to white by clicking). Also, I confirm the 'Print syntax highlighting' is checkmarked on text editor tab. Still, both of print preview and printed pdf file are in monotone. Yoshi

Here's what I wanted to add: However, the original problem 'pdf print out in black/while only' still persist. Thank you very much for your continued support!
