When I run GDB on pset3 breakout, this is what I get. How can I tell what is causing the segmentation fault & where it is? If I enter list, i get 1 dl-debug.c: No such file or directory

Review the GDB short in Week 4. At 3:15 Nate explains exactly what your problem is. You have told the program to run, which it does. But you have not told it to stop, or break, anywhere to give yourself a chance to see what's happening. In your particular case, since the program is giving a seg fault, you want to set a break (eg gdb> break main) before you issue the run command.
