I installed the offline version of CS50 IDE. It was working correctly. Now,

  1. I upgraded my system to Windows 10 and the offline version is no longer working. The browser is showing "This webpage is not available."

  2. To solve the issue, I uninstalled the Docker Toolbox and the virtualbox, then REINSTALLED those again.

  3. Then I opened up "Docker Quickstart Terminal" and pasted this command under the whale.(as guided in the page "https://cs50.readme.io/v2015/docs/offline") .

    • 'docker run -e "OFFLINE_IP=$(docker-machine ip default)" -e "OFFLINE_PORT=8080" --name cs50ide -d -p 5050:5050 -p 8080:8080 cs50/ide50-offline'

But, the PROBLEM now is that IT SHOWS AN ERROR MESSAGE: "

  • "Error response from daemon: Conflict. The name "cs50ide" is already in use by container 5e787b85b840. You have to remove (or rename) that container to be able to reuse that name."

How to solve this problem?

I`m guessing you just want to restart so at the docker cmd line type

docker start cs50ide

basically this tells you that you have already run the docker run command before. no need to re-run this command. to start the IDE, execute:

docker start cs50ide

per step 7 in the docs https://cs50.readme.io/v2015/docs/offline. then visit http://OFFLINE_IP:5050, as instructed, where OFFLINE_IP is the IP you got from the Docker Quickstart Terminal, when first started.

you should be able to get OFFLINE_IP by executing the following command in the Docker Quickstart Terminal:

docker-machine ip
0

My Windows 10 updated to the latest version yesterday and offline CS50 IDE stopped working. Virtualbox was refusing to open, I had to download latest docker toolbox, started working again: https://www.docker.com/products/docker-toolbox

I found that it wouldn't work with Edge, but did with IE11.
