I was almost finished debugging server.c (the only thing that didn't work was that I was getting a 404 error when submitting my query on hello.html) by using gdb. When I thought I'd noticed what the error could be, I quit gdb, made a change to server.c, saved it, then ran Make server and got the following error and now my server.c file reads as 0 bytes:

(gdb) quit
A debugging session is active.

Inferior 1 [process 6047] will be killed.

Quit anyway? (y or n) y

Please help. I've no idea what could have caused this. I'm so so close (been working on this pset off and on for past 2 months). Any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hopefully, this article from Cloud9 support, Code Disappeared or Lost, will help you recover your source code.

Thank you for finding that! I actually ended up copying my server.c code and saving it in a new file. I'm able to run it on the new file (renamed original server.c file to something else) as before.
