I am certain that my program is giving the correct outputs for each of the inputs that the check50 function claims that it is trying. The red :( faces are telling me otherwise. All of the test inputs that require a string of characters are failing, but when I try the inputs myself, it displays the correct output to a tee. I have tried updating the appliance, but that has not helped. Is there something intrinsically built into the check50 code that does not like the way my program is written? I'm not sure what else to do.

  • You may post the link that check50 gave you at the end of its output!

  • If you want to message me your code, I'd take a look at it. I did this problem set not too long ago.

It's hard to know without actually seeing the error messages you are getting, but have you run the staff version and compared it to yours? Do you give the exact same output, including a new line after the word?

jharvard@appliance (~/Dropbox/pset2): ./caesar 1
abc
bcd
jharvard@appliance (~/Dropbox/pset):

or do you perhaps see this on yours?

jharvard@appliance (~/Dropbox/pset2): ./caesar 1
abc
bcdjharvard@appliance (~/Dropbox/pset):

That won't pass check50.

Again, not sure if this is your problem, but it is a common one.

Brenda.
