If you don't immediately understand these directions and/or aren't comfortable executing them, then you should get someone else to assist you that is.
If it's a windows machine, use the "Uninstall a Program" tool in the control panel to uninstall the software. But first, get the name of the directory where it is installed (it's in the properties). After the uninstall and after rebooting, go in and delete the directory where it was, if it is still there. If you created any working directories that you also want to get rid of, save what you want from them and then delete.
From here on out, it gets more complicated. If you're not comfortable doing any of this, you shouldn't.
Do a directory search for any directories like VM*. Once you know they were related, remove them.
Using a tool like ccleaner (SIC), run a check on your registry and remove any keys left behind. This is probably the riskiest activity described here.
OTOH, if it's an Apple computer, I can't help you.
