How can I uninstall the CS50 library off of Ubuntu? I followed the instructions on the page but I realized that I have the wrong version and now I need to uninstall it.

Just execute the following command

$ sudo rm -f /usr/local/include/cs50.h /usr/local/lib/libcs50.a

To install the latest version of the CS50 C library on Ubuntu, execute the following commands

$ sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://mirror.cs50.net/ide50/2015/dists/trusty/main/binary-amd64/ /"
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install lib50-c

  • Thanks! But how can I configure it so I can use make instead of gcc <filename> -lcs50 -o <filename>? Commented Dec 22, 2016 at 18:46
  • @JordanBaron, see cs50.stackexchange.com/a/7238/1161!

  • Unfortunately cs50 library doesn't get on with youtube-dl. Anyone know a work-around to install it on a Mac somewhere different than the normal directory?
