I'm doing problem set 1 on the CS50 Sandbox, and have ran into some infinitely running programs. When I do ctrl-c or ctrl-\ (I am on mac and have tried both cmd and ctrl), the process still continues and I have to close that terminal window and go to another one. What am I doing wrong?

Spamming Ctrl-c does stop the program. It might just take a while for the computer to recognize the user's input while the program is running simultaneously. (But there really shouldn't be any infinite loops in problem set 1.)
