I was migrating my code from 2016's CS50 function syntax to 2017's updated function syntax (e.g. GetFloat() -> get_float()). When I submitted my first problem set, it said that it had been submitted "after the deadline of January 1st at 5:00am."

However, every other page shows the official course deadline to be 31st December 2017.

The edX customer support do not seem to offer any technical explanation, the implications of the Submit warning, or mention anything of the Submit page being updated.

Does the deadline appear incorrectly for anyone else? Is there any way of knowing whether it is being updated, or if my account is stuck on the old version of the page?

The 2016 course deadline has passed. The 2017 submissions haven't opened yet. But you don't have to resubmit any psets that have already been graded, as your gradebook will carry over to the 2017 course. You need only submit psets that you haven't already submitted. (but not yet, as the 2017 submissions system is changing and is not yet ready).

  • Thank you. I'll wait until then, but will probably resubmit just to be consistent with 2017's psets. Problem Sets 1 - 5 have apparently not been changed, so I just need to migrate my code syntactically (that is what the What's New page has suggested). Is there any estimation as to when CS50x 2017 will be opened? Commented Jan 5, 2017 at 0:03

Some of the psets may have small changes, so best to check the current specs and run the updated check50 on them before submitting. No timeframe on submissions, but I'd not expect them to open for a few weeks.
