I made a file called hello.c and typed in the code exactly as required for pset1 but when I type in make hello in the terminal I receive the following text:

clang -fsanitize=integer -fsanitize=undefined -ggdb3 -O0 -std=c11 -Wall -Werror -Wextra -Wno-sign-compare -Wshadow hello.c -lcrypt -lcs50 -lm -o hello

I've tried looking for what this error means online but haven't been able to find anything that quite matches this. I made sure that I saved the file and it's located in pset1. Any advice?

That seems like it's running correctly? have you made sure to run update50 (or is it updatecs50?)

check and see if you have a file just called "hello" in your pset1 directory.

  • Thank-you, you were right it runs correctly. I just didn't expect a message like that to pop up so I assumed it wasn't working.

Now try ./hello

This is a normal message.
