There isn't any folder called jharvard in which I could save a file. As a result, I get the following message in the compiler: No rule to make target 'hello'. Stop.

Would anybody be so kind to help me fix this problem? Thanks in advance.

  • There shouldn't be. You should have a folder named Dropbox or some other folder. Then you need to change directory using the following dictation: cd ~/(folder name) Commented Jan 16, 2015 at 6:23

The jharvard folder is inside the home directory. You can acces it with the home icon in your desktop, or if you open a file explorer window you can see it in the left colum. Also when you open a terminal you are in the jharvard directory by default.

Hope that helps.
