I am a beginner and have zero knowledge of coding. Right now, I am working on problem set 2, but something is wrong and cant properly create readability.c and readability.

This is what I am doing:

  1. Open CS50 IDE
  2. Execute on Terminal the following commands:

~/ $ cd

~/ $ mkdir readability

~/ $ cd readability

~/readability/ $ open readability.c (Opens in a new tab in Terminal)

  1. I moved manually with the pointer/mousse readability.c from Terminal to the upper side where you code
  2. Executed ls to have a list of files and it only shows readability
  3. Cant proceed with my code. Error "no such file or directory".

Please help!! What am I doing wrong?

I very much appreciate your reply. enter image description here

I am having the exact same problem! Interestingly enough, when I do this in the sandbox environment, everything works as expected.

  • Hey, dunno if you are still having trouble with this, but I found a solution. Go to File > Save As and then make sure you save your file under the readability directory. After you do this, you should see your file "readability.c" under "readability/" on the left side of your screen. When you run make again, it should work!
