The gedit program in the appliance is lagging in compiling and executing codes. For example if I edit some code in a program, the compiler would compile the previous code for a few times before it updates to the latest code. How should I deal with this problem?

Don't you forget to save the file before trying to make it? Looks like your make works after autosave was made. Commented Mar 9, 2015 at 22:18
  • I've had exactly the same problem as Bilal for more than a week. I'd assumed it must be a problem with my laptop, but maybe not. Commented Mar 10, 2015 at 0:51

On default, gedit will automatically save your code for you every minute or so which is why you had to wait a bit before your new code works.
To save your code yourself, press 'CTRL + S' before compiling it.
You can check whether your latest code is saved by checking if there's an asterisk preceding your program title in gedit.

I tried saving the code with ctrl+s before compiling it. It did away with the problem I was facing before. Thank you.
