If I enlarge the VMware Fusion.app window it just makes the window blowup with same effective resolution (very few lines and characters when editing the program files). Been through all the VMware prefs and settings including Display but can't find a place to change the resolution of the window. Is this because it's a demo version it's looked down?!

  • do you have an option to install VMware tools under, say, the file menu?

  • VMware Fusion is installed and running but limiting the display to a low res like say 1024x640. Restarting the VM seemed to have got full resolution working now.

seems like restarting the Virtual Machine after changing a few settings did the trick. might have been the You full resolution for Retina displays setting — even though I don't use a Retina display.
